Man’s Corvette found 33 years after being stolen

Better late than never.

A man from Detroit is getting back his prized 1979 Corvette that was stolen from him more than three decades ago.

George Talley told his local ABC affiliate that he was sitting at home last week watching “Judge Mathis” when he got a call from AAA saying his Corvette had been found in Mississippi.

Talley hadn’t heard anything about his stolen American classic since he filed a police report in July 1981.

Thirty-three years later, authorities were able to use a dubious VIN number to help track down the muscle car, which was still in good shape even after so much time had passed.

“I’ve heard it was running, it had 47,000 miles on it, and right now, it’s at the police station in Hattiesburg,” Talley told the station. “When I get that car here in that driveway, we’ll go from there.”

“I’ve always liked Corvettes,” Talley said. “It was attractive. The ladies like ‘em.”
