The holiday weekend is upon us, and that can only mean one thing: It’s time to plop down on the couch and catch up on your binge-watching. But with so many options out there, where should you start?
We’re here to help. You can follow this handy guide for all your Fourth of July TV needs.
If your plans are drama-free:
Spice things up with a marathon of any of “The Real Housewives” franchises, which are now streaming in full for the first time on Hulu Plus. We suggest starting from the beginning of “New York” — when Bethenny Frankel wasn’t yet a mogul or failed talk-show host — or the beginning of “Atlanta,” when NeNe Leakes was exactly the same as she is now.
If you like something a little risque:
Enjoy all the diversity of the new season of “Orange is the New Black” on Netflix. There’s plenty of sizzling action to whet your appetite. Oh, and the characterization and storylines are pretty great, too.
If you’re a reality TV junkie:
You’ll love the scripted parody “The Comeback” streaming on Amazon Prime, in which former “Friends” star Lisa Kudrow stars as a washed-up TV star who attempts to make her way back into the spotlight with her own reality show. The cult hit from 2005 will get a second wind later this year.
If you are a child:
Leave your mom and dad alone and go watch the brand-new episodes of “Turbo FAST,” the animated series spun off from the movie about racing snails. It’s streaming now on Netflix.
If you were a child in 1998:
Relive your glory days with the two full seasons of “Animorphs,” the Nickelodeon show based on the books about teenagers who could change into animals. The throwback hit is now playing on Netflix.
If you read a lot of Stephen King novels:
Find out what everyone was talking about last summer with the first season of “Under the Dome” on Amazon Prime. It’s about a bunch of people stuck … under a dome.
If you enjoy the ramifications of interracial conflict:
Catch up on the first season of “The Bridge” on Hulu Plus. The addictive series, which returns July 9 on FX, is about a crime that connects Juárez and El Paso. Come for Demián Bichir’s smile, stay for Diane Kruger’s neuroses.
