Nets to play 2 preseason games in China

Hello, China!

The NBA announced Thursday the Nets will head overseas for two preseason games next season. They will face the Kings in Shanghai on Oct. 12 and in Beijing on Oct. 15.

“It’s an honor for us to represent Brooklyn and the league in China,” Nets coach Jason Kidd said in a statement. “The borough and the Nets have connections to fans all over the world, and it’s a great opportunity to play on a major international stage in China.”

The Nets have spent plenty of time overseas since Mikhail Prokhorov bought the team back in 2010. They traveled to China for two preseason games prior to the 2010-11 regular season, and played two regular-season games in London in 2011 before playing another one there this season.
