Schumer wants to regulate underground booze slushies

A company hawking a boozy slushie over social media should have to prove it’s not selling to kids if it wants to stay in business, Sen. Charles Schumer said Monday.

“A 12-year-old can probably buy these ‘sloshies’ online, get it and enjoy it because it’s filled with fruit juice and fruit punch and all the things that taste sweet and nice,” the New York Democrat said at a press conference.

“A few weeks ago, I talked about powdered alcohol. I’m making an effort to prevent that from being sold. I would like to see the same thing happen to these ‘sloshies’ ” if they’re not regulated, he said.

The colorful, high-alcohol “Phrosties” — which cost $10 and are ordered over Instagram — already are under investigation by the State Liquor Authority because they are unregulated and unlicensed, the SLA told The Post on Sunday.

Also Monday, Schumer said he wants to put “a chokehold” on a surging heroin pipeline between New York City and Mexico by pushing for an additional $100 million in emergency federal funds to combat it.

The money would go to hire more agents, Schumer’s office said.
