Hungry thief orders burger before cash grab

This crook like the fast food so much he came back for seconds – and robbed the place.

A man ordered a hamburger at a Long Island Burger King, paid his tab and left.

Five minutes later, he came back wearing a mask and ordered another burger – before calmly grabbing cash from a register and making a clean getaway.

“He ordered a hamburger. He liked it so much he came back and ordered a second one. Then he grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash from the register,” said Officer Steve Zacchia, a Nassau police spokesman.

Zacchia would not say how much cash the hamburglar escaped with.

“We don’t want to encourage this type of behavior. Seriously,” he said.

Nassau County Police say the bizarre heist occurred Sunday about 4:55 p.m. at the fast food joint on Long Beach Road in Oceanside.

Cops said the hungry suspect waited until the cashier opened the register before he walked behind the counter and grabbed a handful of loot.

He then strolled from the store and drove off down in a black Honda with tape covering New York State license plates.

Four workers but no customers were in the store at the time, and none was hurt.
