A 52-year-old man fatally stabbed his wife and then attacked his 14 year-old son before turning the knife on himself in their Brooklyn home Tuesday, police sources said.
The 46-year-old woman was inside of the home on Marine Avenue near Ridge Boulevard in Bay Ridge when her husband plunged a knife into her in the neck around 2:20 a.m., according to police.
The couple’s teenage son tried to intervene which is when his father slashed him on the forearm, cops said.
The father then stabbed himself in the stomach, cops said.
The woman, whose identity has not been released by police, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The boy was taken to Lutheran Medical Center where he is being treated for a non life threatening wound, authorities said. The attacker is in police custody at the same hospital.
The motivation for the attack was not immediately known.
