Man claims ill-fitting shoe cost him part of his foot

The shoe didn’t fit and a Bronx man lost part of his foot because of it, according to a lawsuit.

Jorge Casanova got a pair of custom-molded shoes from an Upper East Side orthotic clinic in 2011, but says they were anything but a perfect fit. As soon as he slipped his feet into the shoes, Casanova says in court papers, he knew they weren’t right.

But employees at Hanger Prosthetics and Orthotics told him the fit was fine, according to a Bronx Supreme Court lawsuit.

They told Casanova to go ahead and wear the ill-fitting footwear, according to court papers.

After wearing the shoddy shoes, Casanova claims he needed a partial amputation of his left foot.

Casanova is seeking unspecified damages.

Hanger declined to comment.
