Officials capture one-ton crocodile that ate 4 people

A 2,204 pound crocodile suspected of eating four people and injuring several others has been captured by wildlife officials in Uganda.

The monster reptile was hauled in this week after a four-day hunt in Kakira, in the country’s east.

Uganda’s New Vision newspaper reported Uganda Wildlife Authority officials captured the 80-year-old croc with meat on a hook, with more than 100 locals gathering to watch the man-eater being trapped and bound with rope.

It will now be transferred to the Murchison Falls national park.

The animal is believed to have eaten father-of-two Bosco Nyansi, a local fisherman whose tattered clothing was discovered floating on the water.

The croc is also believed to have maimed several other people.

It is expected that fishermen who had been avoiding Lake Victoria will now resume their fishing activities.

The beast is believed to be just 103 lbs. lighter than the former world’s biggest crocodile, Lolong, who died in the Philippines last year.
