Man stabs brother to death, slashes mother’s throat

The crazed man who slashed his mother’s throat Wednesday before fatally stabbing his brother and plunging the knife into his own leg has been charged with murder, law-enforcement sources said.

The 27-year-old man now identified as police as Tony Glover, went on the stabbing spree at around 6:30 p.m. in Springfield Gardens, according to the sources.

He first cut his mother’s throat before stabbing his 25-year-old brother Victor Johnson, killing him, the sources said.

Then he stabbed himself in the leg, cops said.

Neighbors said the man was an odd character.

“This guy looked weird,” said a neighbor, Sonia Roberts. “I saw him walking up and down the street the other day muttering to himself.”

But another neighbor said the man didn’t seem dangerous.

“We knew he was crazy but he seemed harmless to all of us,” Erika Brown said.

“He was always dancing around and singing in the street.”

The mother, 46, and brother were taken to Jamaica Hospital.

The brother was declared dead at the hospital; the mom was in stable condition.

The suspect, too, was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was in stable condition.
Charges against him were pending.
