Restaurant manager tried to ‘poison’ fish-allergic waitress: suit

A billionaire Moscow restaurateur with ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “inner circle” let the general manager of his pricey Midtown Manhattan eatery run wild, roughing up staff and even trying to poison a fish-allergic waitress by sneaking fish sauce in her sloppy Joe, a tell-all lawsuit claims.

“Eamon Rockey is an absolute bully. I’m not the first person he’s assaulted at Betony. He thinks employees won’t stand up for their rights,” said Maryanne Storms, a former Betony events manager who filed the Brooklyn Supreme Court suit against Rockey, Betony, and owner Andrey Dellos.

“Mr. Dellos’ longtime business partner, Arkady Novikov, who is known in Russia as ‘Blini Baron,’ is a member of President Vladimir Putin’s inner circle,” the lawsuit states.

Rockey — who worked at the renowned Eleven Madison Park — also cheated Storms out of commissions for booking events, assaulted the pastry chef, and screamed at a waiter and the wine director, according to the suit.

“Eamon Rockey either directly placed or instructed another employee to place fish sauce in Barika Edwards’ sloppy joe during family meal at Betony, while knowing that Barika Edwards was allergic to fish,” the suit states.

Rockey and a Betony rep didn’t respond to messages seeking comment.
