Hillary Clinton: No more president runs

Hillary Clinton has made her first, and last, run for the presidency.

The secretary of state replied “no” when asked in an interview that aired this morning on NBC’s “Today” show whether she’ll run again.

“This is a great job,” Clinton said of being secretary of state. “It is a 24/7 job. And I’m looking forward to retirement at some point.”

Of course just like Brett Favre’s retirement announcements, politicians often say one thing but do another.

But Clinton said she doesn’t spend her time thinking about what she’d do if she had won the election.

“I have to tell you, it never crosses my mind,” she said.

Clinton also blasted reports that she has a diminished role in the Obama cabinet.

“I find it absurd,” Clinton said. “I find it beyond any realistic assessment of what I’m doing every day … Maybe there is some misunderstanding which needs to be clarified.”

She said the misunderstanding stems from how she operates.

“I believe in delegating power,” Clinton said. “I’m not one of these people who feels like I have to have my face in the front of the newspaper or on the TV every moment of the day. I would be irresponsible and negligent were I to say, ‘Oh, no. Everything must come to me.’”

On President Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize win, Clinton said she believes it was given because of his “his attitude toward America’s role in the world.”
