BRONX DAD KILLED SAVING KID IN CHUCK E. CHEESE PARKING LOT

A man who had been fighting with his wife in the parking lot of a kid-themed restaurant Chuck E. Cheese in The Bronx sped off in a car and struck and killed a father who died was pushing his 6-year-old son to safety, cops said. A driver who had been fighting with his wife in the parking lot of a Chuck E. Cheese cut a path of destruction in The Bronx yesterday, striking and killing a father — who had pushed his 6-year-old boy to safety, cops said.

The enraged, out-of-control driver -RD>Mark St. Pierre, 36, of The Bronx, injured 13 people in a 20-block demolition derby before cops arrested him, police said.

The bizarre violence started at the children’s pizza restaurant on Gun Hill Road near Ely Avenue in Baychester at about 5:45 p.m.

The suspect, Mark St. Pierre 36, of The Bronx,-RD> got into a 2008 Infiniti and sped west on Gun Hill Road, a witness said.

He had already slammed into two cars, before approaching the intersection of Gun Hill Road and Knapp Street, where Miguel Colon was crossing with his son Sebastian.

Colon was returning the boy to his mother after a weekend visit.

“The car was going pretty fast, at least 85,” said witness Mike DelRoy.

“The guy was crossing the street with his son and [a tricycle].”

Colon had recently been in an accident and was wearing a neck brace, which restricted his mobility, relatives said.

“He turned enough to know to throw his son on the sidewalk — and then the car hit him,” said Colon’s aunt, Mary Soto.

Sebastian’s mother, Kathy Salas, 30, said Colon was dragged and the boy “just didn’t know where his daddy was.

She said Colon, who was on disability from his job as manager of a cellphone store, was “a great father.”

“He really loved his son. He was always there for him. It’s going to take a lot of therapy for my son to understand what’s going on,” she said.

St. Pierre careered away from the dead man and continued west on Gun Hill, slamming into four more cars, cops said.

Witnesses said he began driving on the wrong side of the street and struck a white Cadillac Escalade head-on, causing his two front tires to blow out.

He still tried to keep going but sideswiped a Lexus and finally came to a stop at Laconia Avenue.

“He kicked the [passenger-side] door open and he was staggering,” the Lexus owner said.

Bystanders chased after the suspect, who inexplicably returned to his car when cops arrived, according to the witness.

“He started to create a scene. He was throwing stuff from inside the car. He was looking for something. Then cops came threw him down and cuffed him,” he said.

Charges were pending early today. The people in the cars he hit suffered injuries not considered life threatening.
