PARTY LABORS TO JUSTIFY PAYMENT

The Working Families Party and nine of its candidates have funneled more than $800,000 to the labor-backed group’s for-profit campaign company, records show.

And that’s just in the 2009 election cycle.

Data and Field Services said the pay was for such resources as petition gathering and staff. The cash, as first reported by City Hall News, comes from the party’s general fund, which is fueled by union dues.

WFP executive director Dan Cantor defended DFS and insisted it operates within City Campaign Finance Board rules.
