TOWN CAR HITS QUEENS ECUADORIAN FESTIVAL

A out-of-control livery cab plowed into a street festival in Queens this afternoon — sending 13 people to the hospital, officials said.

The wild scene erupted near the middle of the Queens Ecuadorian Festival, when the motorist drove through several food booths at Junction Boulevard and 37th Avenue shortly after 1 p.m., cops said.

The injured were taken to Elmhurst and New York Hospital-Queens with minor injuries, authorities said.

A propane tank from one booth became wedged underneath the vehicle, and members of the NYPD Emergency Service Unit were called to remove it.

The driver, 59, remained at the scene and no criminality is suspected, cops said.

Rosa Berrera was cooking on a grill under a tent and watching her 3-year-old daughter when the car came barreling through, her family said.

“As soon as the car came, it pulled Rosa,” said Berrera’s stepson, Marco Laguana, 20, of East Elmhurst.

“The daughter was OK. Everything happened so fast. As soon as the car came, everything was confused, and people were looking for their families.”

Rosa Berrerra was whisked to the hospital along with the other injured, kin said.

Charcoal and skewers of meat were sent flying in the air after the driver lost control of his Lincoln Town Car.

Monica Lee was cutting fruit at a juice stand when she saw the car and heard the screams.

“All of a sudden, a car came and hit three tents,” Lee said. “Everything was flying. It’s horrible and shocking.”

Witnesses said the driver was taken away from the scene by police.
