Here’s something else to blame on New Jersey.

The “Snooki Pouf,” that towering up-‘do hairstyle favored by the “Jersey Shore” star, has turned high-fashion — showing up on the heads of Hollywood starlets on the red carpet and fast becoming one of the most requested cuts in the hip pest Big Apple salons.

At Paris Fashion Week in March, Nina Ricci, Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld featured high-rise hairstyles. The next month at the “Date Night” premiere, Tina Fey wore her hair in a half-up, half-down style that featured a severe, voluminous mass of hair extending from her forehead.

Actress Kate Beckinsale aimed even higher at the “Robin Hood” premiere at the Cannes Film Festival last week, sporting a full updo pouf that more than doubled the height of her forehead, creating a solid tiara of hair.

While none come close to the gravity-defying heights achieved by the 4-foot-9 Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, it’s undeniable who their muse is.

But just mention the words “Jersey Shore” to John Hoad, general manager of hip Lower East Side salon, Pimps and Pinups, and the look of dismissive scorn is positively withering.

“We don’t do the ‘Jersey Shore,’ ” he says.

Calling the style a “classic beehive with more of an edgy feel,” Hoad says he’s been getting asked for the cut at least 10 times a week.

Hadley Haut, a 28-year-old fashion editor from the Lower East Side, comes in at least weekly to get big hair, but she insists her influences are Brigitte Bardot and Claudia Cardinale — not Snooki.

“I’ve don’t even really know who that is,” she laughs, as stylist Angelina Mersola spends an hour wrestling with her hair to achieve maximum height.

“I’ve been ratting my hair for years,” she says. “This Snooki chick copied my s – – -.”
