Something old, something new, something borrowed, something . . . wet.
A landmark Hudson Valley hotel is suing a Manhattan woman for $87,637.51 because two years ago she “unlawfully” hung a wedding dress from her room’s sprinkler.
The weight of the dress triggered the hotel sprinkler system, the suit says.
Soaked, according to the lawsuit, were five guest rooms, hallways, a stairwell and the 31-by-95-foot Crest Ballroom – with the water damage totaling almost $90,000.
The suit does not specify if the allegedly careless gown-hanger, Stacey Reynolds-McCardle, of Gramercy Park, was the blushing bride.
Reynolds-McCardle, the lawyer for the hotel’s insurance company, and hotel management could not be reached for comment.
