Astros game got 0.00 rating in Houston

If the Astros lose a game that nobody watches, does it still count in the standings?

Houston’s sad excuse for a baseball team fell to the Indians 9-2 on Sunday for its 105th defeat of the season. But the worst number associated with the game was the Nielsen rating it pulled in the Houston area, which would be 0.00, according to the Houston Chronicle.

The report points out the caveats with such a rating: Between noon-3 p.m, when the game was being played, Nielsen had reports from 581 meters out of 2.28 million TV households. It’s reasonable to assume someone not metered by Nielsen was watching the game, and the reporter even said he had Comcast SportsNet Houston on one of his TVs.

Besides this being at the end of a miserable season for the Astros, it also was played at the same time as the Texans’ 30-9 loss to the Ravens, which was watched in 526,553 households.
