Ravens WR conked by stripper with champagne bottle: report

The Broncos secondary could have used exotic dancer Sweet Pea last January.

Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones was wounded when he was struck on the head with an oversized champagne bottle while on a party bus early Monday morning, TMZ reported.

The website said a stripper known as Sweet Pea drilled Jones with a “gigantic Ace of Spades bottle” while out in Washington celebrating teammate Bryant McKinnie’s 34th birthday and the Ravens’ 30-9 victory over the Texans. An ambulance reportedly arrived after being called for “a bleeding male.” TMZ reported one of Jones’ friends attempted to retaliate, but McKinnie stopped the pal and a fight broke out between the two.

Jones, who famously burned the Broncos secondary in last year’s playoffs by hauling in an overtime-forcing, 70-yard touchdown pass with 31 seconds remaining for the eventual Super Bowl champions, has been out since Week 1 due to a sprained medial collateral ligament.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh told reporters on Monday that Jones was “fine” and “went through everything today that he was supposed to go through.” Harbaugh also said he scolded Jones: “It’s not something we want to be known for. … It’s nothing to be proud of. I’m kind of disappointed in that sense.”

It’s unclear why Sweet Pea brandished the bottle or how big the bottle was. Ace of Spades bottles come in eight sizes, from 750 milliliters to 30 liters. The police came to the scene, but no arrests were made, TMZ reported.

McKinnie is no stranger to controversy. In 2005, he was charged with a misdemeanor for his role in the Vikings boat cruise scandal, a sex party featuring 17 members of the team and numerous prostitutes.
