A jewelry store clerk was shot in the leg this morning when he tried to fight off three men trying to rob the Brooklyn store, police sources said.
The crooks came into Litan Jewelry Corp on Fifth Avenue in Sunset Park just after 11 a.m. and the store worker tried to fend off the men with an umbrella, sources said.
That’s when one of the men opened fire, striking the victim in the leg – the men fled the store with some loot, sources said.
Cops grabbed one of the perps but the other two are still in the wind, sources said.
Several rings were found littering the ground around the corner from the store, sources said.
The victim was taken to Lutheran Medical Center in stable condition.
Charges are pending against the thief.
