Plane evacuated after bomb threat on Twitter

A United Airlines flight was evacuated at JFK airport around 7 p.m. Wednesday after a bomb threat was made on Twitter, sources said.

The plane, which was at Terminal 7, needed to be searched by authorities before it could take off, according to sources.

The threat was made on Twitter in a message to the United Airlines account that allegedly said there was a bomb on the flight from JFK to Dulles International Airport in Washington, DC.

After all 49 passengers on board were searched and the luggage was re-screened, the FBI cleared the plane and it departed around 9:30 p.m.
