Cry-high kid kicked off plane

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Kids will be kids, but a cranky 2-year-old was acting too much his age for a Southwest Airlines flight crew — so the little boy and his mom were kicked off the plane just before takeoff.

Pamela Root, 38, said she was confident that her son Adam’s screams of “Go, plane, go!” and “I want Daddy!” would subside once they were in the air above Amarillo, Texas, en route to San Jose on Monday.

Instead, the plane taxied back to the gate and mother and child were escorted off.

Now Root wants an official apology and compensation for the portable crib and diapers she had to buy for the extra night away from home.

Marilee McInnis, a spokeswoman for Southwest, called the removal of a crying child from a flight unusual but said crews have leeway to resolve such situations.
