1993: During junior year of high school is convicted on three counts of mob violence after a brawl at a bowling alley and serves four months in jail before Virginia governor grants him clemency.

June 1996: No. 1 pick of NBA Draft (left) by the 76ers after two years at Georgetown.

May 1997: Named Rookie of the Year after averaging 23.5 points.

Aug. 1997: Arrested on drug and gun possession charges, sentenced to probation and 100 hours of community service.

Jan. 1999: Signs six-year, $70 million contract extension with Philadelphia.

May 1999: Wins first scoring title after averaging 26.8 points.

Oct. 2000: Draws criticism from NBA commissioner David Stern for lyrics derogatory toward women and gays on an unreleased rap album.

April 2001: In a Sports Illustrated cover story, Iverson’s mother claims her son “was conceived without intercourse.”

April 2001: Wins second scoring title and named league MVP – his second of the season after winning the All-Star Game award – for season that ends with NBA Finals loss to the Lakers.

May 2002: Infamous tirade against criticism of his practice habits: “I’m supposed to be the franchise player and we’re in here talking about practice. … Not a game, we’re talking about practice. How silly is that?”

July 2002: Arrested following domestic dispute and accused of threatening two men with a gun. All 14 charges later dismissed or dropped.

Sept. 2003: Agrees to $76 million contract to remain a Sixer through 2009.

Summer 2004: Averages a team-best 13.8 points per game for the U.S. Olympic team, which settles for the bronze.

Dec. 2004: Becomes seventh player in NBA history to score at least 50 points in consecutive games.

April 2006: Wins fourth – and presumably final – scoring title.

Nov. 2006: Fined by Sixers after skipping a bowling night with season-ticket holders and other VIPs.

Dec. 2006: Traded by Sixers with Ivan McFarlin to Denver for Andre Miller, Joe Smith and two 2007 first-round draft picks.

Nov. 2008: Traded by Denver to Detroit for All-Star point guard and former Finals MVP Chauncey Billups, top reserve Antonio McDyess and Cheikh Samb. Iverson says he’s grown as a person and a player: “One thing is for sure, I’m going to do whatever the coach wants me to do.”

April 2009: Pistons announce Iverson will be shut down for rest of season because of a back injury. However, the news follows Iverson’s comments that he’d rather retire than come off the bench as he had done in recent games.

Sept. 2009: Agrees to play for Grizzlies in mainly a backup role.

Nov. 2009: After only three games, is waived by Grizzlies and becomes free agent.
