Heather Locklear helps ‘Melrose’ a little

Heather Locklear’s return to “Melrose Place” didn’t exactly save the show — but did give it a small boost.

Tuesday’s “MP” episode re-introducing Locklear as devious ad exec Amanda Woodward averaged 1.5 million viewers — up 20 percent from the previous week.

It was also the show’s best viewership number in six weeks, while Locklear’s appearance boosted “MP” significantly in women 18-34 and adults 18-34.

Still, The CW series finished dead-last from 9 to 10 p.m. across-the-board (total viewers and all demos) and was almost four million viewers behind its nearest competitor, Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance.”

Locklear, 48, has said publicly that she’s been brought back to save “MP,” which has struggled from the get-go.

She’s been credited with pumping new life into the original Fox version when she joined the show in 1992 in what turned into a seven-year run.
