‘Singing’ role for Cameron

The cat’s out of the bag — actor Michael Douglas’ son is a rat.

Cameron Douglas’ shrink let slip the closely guarded, potentially dangerous secret during testimony yesterday at a Manhattan federal bail hearing. Dr. Robert Millman confirmed speculation that Cameron was released to house arrest last summer “because he was going to be an informant.”

Defense lawyers asked that the revelation be stricken from court transcripts and the judge agreed. Douglas’ lawyers argued he should be released pending sentencing for drug trafficking to undergo treatment in Manhattan for heroin addiction.

“Obviously, we continue to be at odds with the government,” which apparently opposes the release, lawyer Nicholas De Feis said later.

Judge Richard Berman — who noted Douglas’ prior bust for receiving heroin hidden in an electric toothbrush while under house arrest — deferred a ruling.
