‘Jersey Shore’ stars: ‘We’d never strike’

Who blinked?

The cast of “Jersey Shore” says there was never any danger of a salary-related work stoppage.

“We were going to Jersey regardless,” housemate JWOWW revealed during an informal get-together with TV reporters in LA. “The contracts were, like, the extra bonus. We weren’t ever going to stop work.”

Last month, the hard-partying stars of MTV’s biggest hit in years demanded a raise in pay from the $5,000 per episode they took home during Season 1 to a reported $30,000.

“Everybody wanted to come back,” Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino explained. “No one person led the group. We all had our own people and our own deals.

“As for maybe just striking a deal, maybe I pretty much said ‘Let’s do this quickly and let’s get shooting.’ ”

Sorrentino may have ended up in the best “Situation” of all. In addition to a 200 percent pay bump, the well-tanned star also has deals on the table to attach himself to a brand of vodka and GNC vitamins.

“It’s workin’ out pretty good for me,” he says.

Still, “Jersey Shore” has proved to be a gold mine for MTV. This is the network’s most popular series since “The Osbournes” ended in 2005.
