Jennifer Falls (Wednesday, 10:30 p.m., TV Land)
Meet Jennifer Doyle (Jaime Pressly), a high-powered executive whose best days are behind her. Having hit rock bottom, she takes her teenage daughter (Dylan Gelula) and moves back with her mother (Jessica Walter) and accepts a job in a bar that’s owned by her brother Wayne (Ethan Suplee) and her sister-in law. Once Jennifer settles in to this reduced life, she reunites with her former best friend (Missi Pyle), who turns out to be holding quite a grudge against her.
Halt and Catch Fire (Sunday, 10 p.m., AMC)
In this new series, Joe MacMillan (Lee Pace), a former IBM executive, forces his current company, Cardiff Electric, into the personal-computer race now that IBM’s PC has been found wanting. MacMillan enlists the help of engineer Gordon Clark (Scoot McNairy), who dreams of creating a revolutionary product, and Cameron Howe (Mackenzie Davis), a volatile prodigy who puts her future in jeopardy to join MacMillan’s rogue PC project. Tensions build within the group as their desire to do something that matters runs up against their ability to truly innovate.
Motive (Wednesday, 10 p.m., ABC)
When a stunning socialite drowns after a celebration aboard a yacht, Detectives Angie Flynn (Kristin Lehman) and Oscar Vega (Louis Ferreira) are faced with a number of potential suspects. The case seems to be solved, but as tension continues to build between Angie and Sergeant Cross (Warren Christie), the investigation leads them to an unlikely killer with an unexpected motive.
Longmire (Monday, 10 p.m., A&E)
Despite its abundance of wide-open spaces, Absaroka County, Wyoming, has plenty of secrets. In season 3 of “Longmire,” Sheriff Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) will come closer to finding out who was behind his wife’s murder. Meanwhile, he finds himself dealing with compromised comrades: His best buddy, Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips), is going to prison; Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) has been shot; and Vic Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is unsure if she has shaken a stalker from her past. Walt tries to find a way to set the world right again, but one person knows he can’t do this alone — his daughter, Cady (Cassidy Freeman). She will fight in court to try and clear Henry’s name of murder charges.
Silicon Valley (Sunday, 10 p.m., HBO)
Poised to compete at TechCrunch Disrupt, the guys of Pied Piper become worried after an impressive presentation by Gavin Belson (Matt Ross). As Jared (Zach Woods) tries to pivot the company, Richard (Thomas Middleditch) is inspired to make big changes at the last minute. First-season finale.
24: Live Another Day (Monday, 9 p.m., Fox)
As the smoke clears after the devastating events of the first five hours, tensions between President Heller (William Devane) and Prime Minister Davies boil over, and one of these men decides to take matters into his own hands. In the meantime, Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) proposes a plan to locate Margot (Michelle Fairley) by using someone surprising as his unsuspecting bait. Back at the CIA in London, Jordan (Giles Matthey) raises suspicions about Kate’s husband. Co-starring Benjamin Bratt, Mary Lynn Rajskub and Yvonne Strahovski.
Orange is the New Black (Friday, Netflix)
The lives of a group of women in a prison didn’t sound like the greatest premise for a TV series, but “Orange Is the New Black,” based on a memoir by ex-con Piper Kerman, introduced a splendid cast of characters played by TV’s most vibrant actresses: Taylor Schilling, Kate Mulgrew and Uzo Aduba as the scene-stealing Crazy Eyes. Joining the cast this season is Lorraine Toussaint (“Any Day Now”) as Vee, a new prisoner who has a quite the history with one of the convicts.
Power (Saturday, 9 p.m., Starz)
James “Ghost” St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick) has it all: a beautiful wife, Tasha (Naturi Naughton), a gorgeous Manhattan penthouse and the hottest, up-and-coming new nightclub in New York. It has a terrible name — Truth — but no one seems to mind because it attracts an A-list crowd. As the club’s success grows, so do Ghost’s plans to build an empire. However, Truth hides an ugly reality (this is the deep part). It’s a front for Ghost’s criminal underworld; a lucrative drug network, serving only the wealthy and powerful. As Ghost is seduced by the prospect of a legitimate life, everything precious to him becomes unknowingly threatened. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is an executive producer.
