Chelsea Clinton is making bank at NBC

Chelsea Clinton isn’t scrubbing pennies together like her “dead broke” parents did back in 2001.

The mom-to-be is apparently making bank as a “special correspondent” at NBC News, earning an annual salary of $600,000 before switching to a month-to-month contract this year, sources told Politico.

Clinton, the only child of former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, has been working at the network since 2011 doing features for “Rock Center with Brian Williams” until it was canceled in June 2013.

Since then, she has been a regular contributor to “NBC Nightly News” packages.

The network’s new payroll agreement with Chelsea Clinton, 34, would make it easier for NBC to cut ties if Hillary decides to run for president.

“We don’t comment on details of existing contracts. NBC News continues to enjoy a wonderful working relationship with Chelsea, and we are proud of her work,” NBC News told Politico.

It is still unclear whether Chelsea Clinton, who’s expecting her first child in the fall, will return to the network after her pregnancy.

Hillary Clinton claimed she and hubby Bill Clinton were “dead broke” after they left the White House because of legal debts — prompting scorn from critics who pointed out they earned more than $400,000 a year in 2000, close to 10 times the national median income that year. Their net worth is now estimated in the tens of millions.
