Paul Carlucci to retire from News Corp.

Former New York Post publisher Paul Carlucci is retiring from News Corp. after a 23-year career with the company.

Carlucci, the chairman and chief executive of News America Marketing, a publisher of coupons and in-store marketing products, will be remembered as the publisher of The Post from 2005 to 2012.

“Paul has been a close confidant and trusted colleague for more than two decades, and his contributions to our company and the people we serve are incalculable,” said Rupert Murdoch, executive chairman of News Corp.

Post Editor-in-Chief Col Allan said Carlucci “was a first-class publisher of The Post. Paul backed our journalism and became a great friend to us all.”

Carlucci will be succeeded as CEO of News America Marketing by Martin J. Garofalo, NAM’s president, News Corp CEO Robert Thomson said in a statement.

“With the appointment of long-term senior executive Marty Garofalo as CEO, I can honestly subscribe to Frank Sinatra’s sentiment … The Best Is Yet to Come!” added Carlucci.
