Surface Pro 3 features appealing for artists, writers

One of the coolest features of the Surface Pro 3 is that it allows users to view multiple screens at once, not unlike a laptop.

Running multiple apps on the 12-inch display using the touch screen required some getting used to, but The Post was able to view both Facebook and Twitter side by side — a feature that’s sure to make social networking addicts giddy

The new Surface, which goes on sale Wednesday, could be an attractive option for artists and writers — thanks to the $50 pen accessory that allows users to make handwritten notes on text and photos, and draw using Adobe Photoshop.

Microsoft is already wooing the Hollywood set by showing how easy it is to use the pen to scribble notes in scripts, for example, to be forwarded electronically.

Still, the tablet falls short of acting as a full-fledged laptop in other ways. Most notably deficient is the trackpad that comes with the $130 keyboard, which is glitchy and doesn’t reliably open links or tabs.
