Student rounded up in Hoffman drug probe raid released

A Parsons art student busted with cocaine during a building raid targeting Philip Seymour Hoffman’s suspected drug dealer was released without bail Thursday before breaking down in tears.

“I’m so upset,” Juliana Luchkiw told her lawyer father as she left the courthouse after spending two days in jail. “This is retarded.”

Luchkiw and her boyfriend Max Rosenblum, both 22, were charged with misdemeanor possession after two bags of cocaine were seized from their apartment in the Mott Street building Tuesday night.

Cops also found 10 empty baggies with distinctive stamps that appear to have been sold from that particular building, said Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Chris Prevost who asked for $1,500 bail.

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Edward McLaughlin released Luchkiw without setting bail. She’s only charged with misdemeanors and given her father’s a lawyer and mother’s a doctor in New Jersey, they wouldn’t chance the “abysmal embarrassment” of her not showing up to her next court date, he reasoned.

Luchkiw’s neighbor Robert Vineberg was charged with felony possession and intent to sell after cops seized 250 glassines of heroin in his apartment, according to the criminal complaint.

Cops believe the jazz musician – who recorded with Amy Winehouse – may have sold the “Capote” actor the batch of heroin he overdosed on last Sunday.

Vineberg had cellphones with Hoffman’s number in them according to law enforcement sources.

It’s unclear whether there’s a connection between the couple and Vineberg beyond living in the same building.

Their defense lawyers have insisted the pair has never sold heroin or interacted with Hoffman before his untimely death last Sunday.

“She doesn’t buy heroin. She doesn’t use heroin,” said Luchkiw’s defense lawyer Stephen Turano. “They’re (the empty glassines) are not hers.”

Rosenblum, who is still in custody, is expected to have a bail hearing this afternoon.
