CBS outage knocks out NYC Masters coverage

With no Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson already out and a leaderboard populated with names unknown outside of golf circles, perhaps no one would notice if CBS’ Masters coverage disappeared for a while on Saturday.

Think again.

A power outage hit the WCBS broadcast center in Manhattan on Saturday afternoon, knocking out the Masters feed to the Greater New York area.

The isolated outage affected just the WCBS-2 audience in the tri-state, a station spokesperson told The Post’s Phil Mushnick.

Instead of azaleas and Amen Corner and well-manicured Augusta greens, for about 22 minutes viewers saw just a screen featuring the station logo, but no explanation for the disruption.

The outage began around 3:40 p.m., with the leaders on the front nine, and returned about 4:05 p.m.
