POLS AWAITING SLUSH LEGAL AID

City lawmakers looking for taxpayers to foot the bill for their legal aid during the federal probe of the slush-fund scandal will have their requests handled on a case-by-case basis, council Speaker Christine Quinn said.

Quinn, who has hired private firms to represent the council as a body, and to represent her, said guidelines to determine which lawmakers will be eligible for a lawyer paid by the city will be issued.

“We haven’t had any specific requests yet from council members, but they will be decided on a case-by-case basis,” Quinn said yesterday, without giving a date for when the guidelines would be ready.
