FARM AID

I wish to compliment Dale McFeatters on his insightful column regarding the agriculture lobby and its farm subsidies (“Struggling Billionaires,” PostOpinion, Nov. 17).

McFeatters is spot on in stating that price supports, while represented as going to struggling working-class individuals and families, actually are handed out disproportionately to corporations and billionaires.

Hopefully, the next time the good folks on the conservative side of the aisle take up the rallying cry for “preserving the Bush tax cuts” so that Americans can “keep more of their hard-earned money,” McFeatters and the rest of The Post’s opinion writers will be just as vigilant in reminding its readers of exactly who reaps the real benefits.
