In her first foray into politics since her ill-fated bid for Hillary Rodham Clinton’s Senate seat, Caroline Kennedy last night announced she was backing Cyrus Vance Jr. for Manhattan district attorney.
“Some of you may be surprised to hear that when Cy called me, I told him I was going to be taking a little time off from politics,” joked Kennedy, who headlined a Vance fund-raiser on the Upper East Side. “I realized this is too important an election for anyone to sit out.”
Former Judge Leslie Crocker Snyder and gun-control advocate Richard Aborn are also running for DA.
