‘FIRE-SMART’ KIDS SAVE GRAN

Two young sisters learned fire-safety tips at their Staten Island school last week — and used them to save their granny’s life.

Alyssa Corley, 7, and her sister, Michelle, 9, learned that if a blaze breaks out you should stay low and crawl along the edges of walls.

Soon after, a basement clothing dryer caught fire while Michelle and her grandmother, Debbie Dixon, were on the second floor of their home.

“I opened the door and saw white smoke,” Dixon said yesterday. “I took Michelle and went halfway down [the stairs] and stopped.

“Michelle grabbed my hand and said, ‘Let’s go now!’ She led me down the wall, staying low” — and outside to safety.
