KFC patrons were left finger-licking furious after a Manhattan restaurant refused to honor coupons entitling diners to a free feed yesterday — and thousands of angry customers were blocked from printing the giveaway’s coupon when the chain’s Web site crashed.
The promotion was advertised on Oprah Winfrey’s site, which was flooded with biting comments.
Thousands more scrambled to download their coupons before yesterday’s midnight deadline, resulting in significant delays and site crashes.
The site operators were forced to post a message apologizing for technical difficulties on Tuesday.
As the line stretched down East 42nd Street at the store near Grand Central Station yesterday, customers were sent home hungry after management refused to honor their coupons.
They held a sit-in until cops arrived.
The manager, who refused to give his name, said his staff was overwhelmed by the number of customers.
He said all coupons would be honored at the store all day today.
