LA GUARDIA LOON ‘TIME MACHINE’

Loony-toon La Guardia “bomber” Scott McGann had a one-way boarding pass — to the future!

The nearly catatonic kook was carrying a hand-drawn schematic for a time machine when he cleared out the busy airport with a fake bomb, law-enforcement sources told The Post.

McGann, 32, who is being held at Bellevue Hospital’s psychiatric ward, was busted at around 5:30 a.m. near a central-terminal security checkpoint as he repeatedly pressed a trigger mechanism connected by wire to batteries in his bag.

The device turned out to be harmless.

Since his arrest, McGann has silently laid on his back staring at the ceiling — even as doctors and investigators continuously try to question him.

When a Post reporter visited him at the hospital yesterday, a zombie-like McGann stared through him.

Asked how he was doing, the patient shifted his eyes up and to the right, but didn’t respond. When asked about time travel, he then stood up and left.

The paper confiscated from McGann contained drawings of a bald man’s head, with the words “Age at 17” above him and the phrases “John Doe” and “Lifespan 35 years” below him.

The ballpoint pen illustrations also show a downward arrow pointing at the word “Time,” several other arrows pointing at the words “Dimension 1,” “Dimension 2,” and “Dimension 3.”

Investigators believe he was trying to depict a “time machine.”

A Queens grand jury indicted McGann yesterday for placing a false bomb, placing a false bomb in a mass transit facility, and making a terrorist threat. He faces 7½ years for each charge.
