Newborn ‘name’ calling

Isabella and Jacob rock.

They were the most popular names for babies again last year.

Thanks to parents’ affection for biblical names and a touch of the “Twilight” effect, Jacob scored its 12th straight year on top. It was followed by Ethan, Michael, Jayden and William.

Isabella hit the jackpot in 2010 for the second year in a row, followed by Sophia, Emma, Olivia and Ava, said the Social Security Administration, which compiled the popularity list of 1,000 names.

Isabella “got an extra boost from ‘Twilight,’ ” said Jennifer Moss, founder and CEO of Babynames.com.

Reality TV scored a cultural hit, sending two names rocketing to score the biggest leap in popularity — Maci and Bentley.

Maci Bookout and her son, Bentley, starred on “Teen Mom” and “16 and Pregnant.” The name Maci shot from a ranking of 655th on the list in 2009 to 232nd last year, and Bentley went from 515th to 101st.
