LET’S MAKE LOVE (1960)

Sunday, 12 p.m., FMC

In a monumental “men-will-do-anything-for-lust,” move, Arthur Miller wrote this fun fluff film about a bazillionaire (Yves Montand) posing as an actor to get close to a gorgeous star (Marilyn Monroe, Miller’s wife at the time). In real life Montand got too close to Monroe and their affair — sans the music and comedy of the movie — wrecked marriages. With Bing Crosby, Milton Berle and Gene Kelly.

THE KREMLIN LETTER (1970)

Wednesday, 4 p.m., FMC

If you’re a fan of convoluted plots like “24” and “Lost,” this John Huston Cold War espionage movie is for you. Gorgeously shot in Finland, Italy, Mexico, and New York, it’s about a US official who signs a pact with the USSR to attack China — without permission of US government. Stellar cast includes Richard Boone, Bibi Andersson, George Sanders, Max von Sydow, Raf Vallone, Barbara Parkins and Lila Kedrova.

CAT BALLOU (1965)

Friday, 12 a.m., TCM

Jane Fonda at her most gorgeous and Lee Marvin at his funniest make this parody of westerns soar where it could have drifted. A schoolmarm (Fonda) decides to avenge the murder of her father by an evil railroad baron and hires a famous gunfighter (Marvin) — who turns out to be such a drunk, he can’t even keep his horse sober. Marvin’s surprise Oscar. With Michael Callan.

TOP GUN (1986)

Saturday, 7:30 p.m., ION

The movie that brought big thrills and cheesy songs back to the movies is Tony Scott’s fun, macho-man flick featuring flying stunts, sex with the teacher, and wise-asses at the US Navy’s fighter-weapons school. Kelly McGillis is the teacher, and Tom Cruise, Anthony Edwards, and Val Kilmer are the cowboy flyers competing with one another to become “Top Gun.” Terrific.
