MTV has confirmed that shooting on its fourth season will take place, despite reports that local authorities pulled the show’s filming permits at some of Florence’s most famous tourist spots, forcing the cast to abort their scheduled departure from Newark Airport over the weekend.

“Production on ‘Jersey Shore’ will begin this week, following the Italian presidential visit to Florence,” said an MTV spokesperson. “In the ongoing spirit of cooperation, we’re waiting until his official visit concludes to start filming.”
