11-year-old dies after stepfather’s DWI crash

An 11-year-old boy has died after his drunken stepdad crashed their car into a light pole in Brooklyn on Sunday, likely leading to harsher charges against the man, authorities said.

Anthony Pollydore, 65 — who has already been convicted twice of drunken driving — learned that he had killed his stepson, Dylan, shortly before being arraigned on vehicular-assault and other related charges in Brooklyn Criminal Court on Monday.

Those charges are expected to be upgraded to vehicular manslaughter at Pollydore’s next court appearance Friday, sources said.

The stepad remained stoic, still dressed in the all-white three-piece suit he was wearing at the time of the crash, and said nothing as a judge suspended his driver’s license and ordered him held without bail.

Cops said Pollydore had two other kids in the car with him at the time of the crash: his 5-year-old son, Kyle, and a 12-year-old stepson, Alex.

All three kids were in the back of the car, and none was wearing seatbelts. Kyle was thrown into the front seat on impact. He and Alex suffered minor injuries. Dylan died at Kings County Hospital.

The suspect reeked of alcohol and blew a .094 on a Breathalyzer after the crash, police said.

“He’s heartbroken. It’s a terrible accident,” defense lawyer Joseph Ostrowsky said of Pollydore.

The hard-partying dad was coming home from a “social gathering” when he slammed his 1995 Toyota Avalon into a light pole in Brownsville at around 8 a.m. Sunday, his lawyer said.

Ostrowsky said Pollydore may have been “cut off” by another car, causing him to slam on his brakes at a red light on Eastern Parkway and skid into the pole near Dean Street.

His two prior DWI convictions were in 2004 and 2009.
