Selfie-taking Canadian kicked by train conductor cashes in

A clueless tourist who is featured in a funny video being kicked in the head by a train conductor stands to profit from the internet sensation.

The nine-second clip that shows Jared Frank, 22, of Regina, Canada — who had been filming himself near a passing train in Peru — has raked in a whopping 22 million views, prompting a California-based media firm to offer him thousands of dollars for the footage, CBC News reported.

“I got all these different offers … and they were all legit,” he said.

Frank agreed to a deal with the firm Jukin Media, which offered him roughly $30,000 to $250,000, CBC reported.

The video will earn $2 to $16 per 1,000 views and Frank will take home 70 percent of that, he said.

He had tried to record a video of himself, while a train passed him from behind earlier this month – but he instead got a boot to the head. He posted the footage online and it went viral last week.

Frank now plans to spend the cash on film school and to help pay for his trip to South America.

“I have a decent relationship with the licensing company, so I trust them,” he said.
