Pizza deliveryman stabbed to death

A pizza deliveryman was stabbed to death on his way home from a party in Inwood, police and friends said.

Jose Reyes Silva, 20, was jumped by three men and stabbed at about 4:55 a.m. on July 5 in front of 153 Vermilyea St., police said.

The victim was knifed in the heart and abdomen and died the next day at New York Presbyterian Hospital, according to police and family.

His brother, Salvadore, had feared the worst when Silva didn’t return home.

“He was in hysterics, crying out, ‘Where’s my brother!’ We called him and called him but he didn’t answer. That’s when we got a call that he was in the hospital,” said the victim’s friend and roommate, Jose Quintero, 22.

Co-workers at Grandpa’s Pizza on Broadway were shaken by the sensless murder.

“It’s not gonna be the same without Jose around,” said Jose Nunez, the manager of the pizzeria.

“It’s really so sad, so we are taking up a little collection for his family,” added a grieving colleague.

Suspects José Ortega and Juan Zarusar Moralez, both 22, were arrested initially for assault and attempted murder, and the charges were due to be upgraded, police sources said.

The third suspect is still at large.
