Punk-war wounds

There was no indictment yet — but plenty of invective — when the former bassist for the Cro-Mags punk group appeared in court yesterday for allegedly stabbing two former bandmates at a Webster Hall concert last weekend.

Harley Flanagan, who came to court sporting a sizable black eye and a skull tattoo on the back of his head, insisted he got violent only after his ex-band members jumped him.

“What happened was I was jumped by seven to eight guys trying to kick me and basically leave me for dead,” Flanagan told reporters. “I have a wife and two sons — there is no way in hell I would risk that for a bunch of wannabe thugs.”

Flanagan was a founding member of the hardcore-punk band, which continues to have a cult following. Witnesses to the July 6 brawl blamed Flanagan for barging into the dressing room with revenge on his mind.

“They think they’re going to play my f–king music that I helped write?” the berserk bassist bellowed, witnesses told The Post. But Flanagan said yesterday he came to the concert only as an act of reconciliation, and he suffered a knife wound to the leg requiring 30 stitches.

“No man goes into the lion’s den and says, ‘I’m going to fight all these lions myself,’ ” agreed a pal who accompanied Flanagan to court — who gave his name only as Mike.

Flanagan has been charged with felony assault and criminal possession of a knife. Prosecutors have yet to convene a grand jury.

He is due back in court on Sept. 27.
