NFL: Brent drove 110 mph

Cowboys nose tackle Josh Brent was driving at least 110 mph at the time of the December car crash that killed teammate Jerry Brown, according to a police report obtained by a Dallas-Fort Worth TV station.

The police report claimed Brent was driving at a minimum of 110 mph on Dec. 8 and could have gone as fast as 134 mph.

Brent, 25, was driving with a suspended license and had a blood-alcohol content of 0.189 percent, more than twice the legal limit, at the time of the crash.He was indicted on one count of intoxication manslaughter, which carries a minimum sentence of 20 years in prison.

NHL: Anisimov hospitalized

In Detroit, Blue Jackets center Artem Anisimov, an ex-Ranger, was alert and moving when he was taken off the ice on a stretcher after being struck in the head by the left fist and forearm of Red Wings defenseman Kyle Quincey during Columbus’ 3-2 win. The 24-year-old center was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

ETC.: Heat win ninth straight

LeBron James scored 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, and the visiting Heat beat the Bulls 86-67 for their season-high ninth straight win.
