Danny the dog is still this man’s best friend.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police K-9 mourned his slain partner, Constable David Ross, during solemn funeral services Tuesday in Moncton, New Brunswick.

Constables Ross, 32, Fabrice Georges Gevaudan, 45, and Douglas James Larche, 40, were all gunned down last Wednesday, allegedly by Justin Bourque — a 24-year-old gun nut, who was armed to the teeth and wearing full camouflage when he was caught, officials said.

Danny the German shepherd got on his hind legs to get one last whiff of the Stetson hat that belonged to his beloved handler and partner, Ross.

The four-legged cop marched behind Ross’ casket at it was rolled into the Moncton Coliseum. Danny then stood guard next to Ross’ Canadian flag-draped coffin.

In Ross’ obituary, the cop’s family noted his love of animals. Ross was remembered as “best friend to Danny his faithful K9 companion,” according to the obit.
