A man was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Inwood on Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
He was hit by a train heading toward Penn Station about 2:45 p.m. near 180th Street, according to witnesses and FDNY.
He died at the scene.
Amtrak police are investigating why the man was on the tracks.
