Hard hat allegedly sent co-worker to hospital because man took too long to get his lunch

A hungry hard hat allegedly sent a co-worker to the hospital at a Dolce & Gabbana store construction site on Fifth Avenue yesterday because the man took too long to take him his lunch.

The victim, a tile worker, was supposed to get co-worker Abimael Casiano, 48, an egg-salad sandwich, according to witnesses.

When he got back, the two got into an argument — and witnesses say Casiano picked up the victim by the neck and slammed him onto his back. He then shoved the sandwich in his face.

“It got out of control,” said one witness, who declined to be named.

The victim had suffered a spinal injury before the clash happened and was taken out of the site on a stretcher for treatment at Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Casiano was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault.

The two men work for Wilkstone Reconstruction, which is based in New Jersey.
