Celebs are stylishly stepping into the shoe biz

Everyone in Hollywood is stepping into the booming shoe business. Jessica Simpson, an ex-pop star and now footwear and fashion pioneer, boasts sales tipping over the $1 billion mark for her namesake collection. It seems like a natural progression for celebrities who want to translate their sartorial footprint into marketable dollars. Let’s see how other star-helmed shoe lines stack up.

Parker is without a doubt the grand dame of high heels, and her new shoe venture is a dream come true for pretty much any woman who has ever watched an episode of “Sex and the City.” The busy mom of three teams up with Nordstrom for “SJP,” an Italian-made shoe line set to debut on Feb. 28 with price points ranging from $195 to $485. The actress’ co-designer is, fittingly, none other than George Malkemus, the president of Manolo Blahnik.

Going into the shoe business was practically a no-brainer for Fergie, the Black Eyed Peas’ leading lady, whose funky tour fashions always stood out on stage. Her “Fergie Footwear” collection was created with those fans in mind, with budget-conscious price points lower than $100.

Cameron Diaz, artistic director of Pour La Victoire

Diaz is all about adding extra dashes to her title these days. Along with starring in “The Other Woman” and dropping a health book called “The Body Book,” Diaz was tapped as artistic director by French-inspired shoe label Pour La Victoire. Working more behind the scenes (it won’t be called CD for PLV), the actress built feminine, chic styles with higher heels and sexy cutouts to incorporate into the fall 2014 line. Prices will range from $250 to $500.

Ivanka Trump, designer of Ivanka Trump Shoes

Taking a page from her father’s business sense, Trump put her vision for comfortable yet fashionable shoes in department stores everywhere. Trump’s elegant shoe line, which debuted in 2010, is composed of good-quality leather in the form of flats, pumps and boots. With the average shoe costing just around $150, her line is pretty accessible.

Stefani showed other celebrities that you never have to compromise your brand for the sake of having a name on a pair of pumps. Since its inception in 2003, L.A.M.B. has characterized Gwen’s out-of-this-world style with styles as varied as a pair of sky-high chunky heels, sneaker wedges and dangerous lace-up stilettos ranging from $225 to $325.
