Pow! Zap! Grrrr!
It’s a comic book with an edgy new breed of superheroes who don’t fight intergalactic aliens — they avenge animals.
“Liberator” is the vision of Queens writer Matt Miner, 38, an animal-welfare advocate and a comic-book junkie.
“Rather than beating up supervillains, we are taking on real issues of . . . animal abusers,” he said. “The important part is that these superheroes liberate abused animals through nonviolent tactics.”
The first 32-page comic, “Liberator: Rage Ignition,” published by Black Mask Studios, is due June 19.
